My name is Josef Norgan and I love a good problem. I’ve always been fascinated by how things work and how I could combine different things to make something new. As a child, I would save loose change and buy old electronics or tools at garage sales and then dismantle them the second I got them home. This curiosity has remained a huge part of me and was a driving force for me studying physics in college. I always seek to understand first and then do something useful with that understanding.
I’m currently in San Francisco, CA making really cool products with great people.
I work as a Product Engineer (SW/FW/HW generalist) with experience in the following:
- Software (C, Java, Python, Go)
- Embedded Systems (Nordic, TI, Espressif, RPi, Arduino, Embedded Linux)
- Back-end Services (AWS, GCP)
- ECAD (Eagle, Altium)
- MCAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
- Rapid Prototyping (3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC Milling, Woodworking, Mold Making)
My strengths are in New Product Development and Team Building. Checkout my LinkedIn profile to learn more about my employment history.
In my spare time, I’m either working on a random idea in my home workshop or I am outdoors, exploring nature. I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, camping, and more generally, adventure. I strongly believe experiences are the most valuable thing you can collect and whenever possible, I like to travel to places I’ve never been.

Why “The Number Pi”?
I’ve always been fascinated by relationships and ratios that appear in nature. The numerical constant π or ‘Pi’ (the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter) is all around us. It is one of the most widely known and used constants and the tangible, yet infinite nature of this number has always appealed to me.
Can you include a photo for no real reason other than to brag?
Yes, I certainly can. Below is a picture taken on the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. I am holding a Mt. Whitney bandana up because 9 months before this, my brother and I hiked Mt. Whitney in California (the highest peak in the contiguous U.S.) and here I was standing on the highest peak in Africa (19,341ft) and highest free-standing peak in the world.
